As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting our commitment to compliance and efficiency. Here’s How You Will Contribute to BMC’s and Your Own Success:
Analyzes data and performs extensive financial analysis of commissions associated with license and maintenance sales transactions. Assists in the monthly calculation of both the gross and net commission expense and deferrals and prepares the associated journal entries.
Performs financial forecasting of commission expenses and monitors forecast to actual expenditures.
Reconciles month-end general ledger account balances to various sub-ledgers and resolves any variances.
Resolves commission related issues and inquiries in a timely manner.
Documents changes to policies and procedures for the management of commission accounting activity as needed.
Will participate equally in the monthly and quarterly close processes, SOX requirements and audit reviews.
Maintains and creates reports for various commission related systems/databases.
Tests and coordinates changes and upgrades to the various databases and systems with IS&T and assists in determining new methods to automate and improve processes.
Other tactical and strategic commission accounting related initiatives as assigned.
