Applied AI ML Associate Senior - Python

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the AI/ML & Data Platform team , you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on AI/ML concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Hans on experience in programming languages, particularly Python.
• Manage to apply data science and machine learning techniques to address business challenges.
• Strong background in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Expertise in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, and advanced applied ML areas like GPU optimization, finetuning, embedding models, inferencing, prompt engineering, evaluation, and RAG (Similarity Search).
• Manage to complete tasks and projects independently with minimal supervision, with a passion for detail and follow-through.
• Excellent communication skills, team player, and demonstrated leadership in collaborating effectively with engineers, product managers, and other ML practitioners

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Exposure with Ray, MLFlow, and/or other distributed training frameworks.
• MS and/or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Understanding of Search/Ranking, Recommender systems, Graph techniques, and other advanced methodologies.
• Familiar in Reinforcement Learning or Meta Learning.
• Understanding of Large Language Model (LLM) techniques, including Agents, Planning, Reasoning, and other related methods.
• Exposure building and deploying ML models on cloud platforms such as AWS and AWS tools like Sagemaker, EKS, etc
