The role of Facilities Officer is an operational, site-based role and therefore not suited to hybrid working. The job-holder will be expected to travel between a number of NRW buildings within a geographical area extending at its farthest, to around 30 miles east of Aberystwyth and occasional travel to Lampeter to meet with other hub team members.
The job entails undertaking and recording various tasks such as fire alarm testing, water temperature monitoring and other checks to ensure the buildings are safe and legally compliant. It will involve meeting, inducting and monitoring the work of contractors engaged in routine preventative and reactive maintenance and oversight of some project work. The individual will be required to work independently but will have the support, advice and direction of the hub Coordinator and Team Leader. This is an office-based role that requires regular travel between sites; a full UK driving licence and a flexible, proactive approach are therefore essential.
You will join a professional and committed Facilities team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our offices, depots, and public-facing sites across West and Mid Wales. Our work ensures that all environments are safe, functional, and aligned with the needs of staff and service users.
Managing a diverse portfolio—from operational depots to public facilities—you will work closely with colleagues, contractors, and internal teams to deliver responsive and efficient services. Your role will support compliance, coordination, and ongoing improvement across the estate.
