Department: Technology & Change
Reporting to: Lead UX Developer
About the role
As part of our Platform project delivery team(s) you will support our Product
owners, developers, users, stakeholders and marketing team to conceptualise
and deliver an effective user experience. You will facilitate collaboration, bringing
together technical knowhow with design aesthetics. Your exceptional
communication skills will keep stakeholders in the loop, building consensus on
the design and arranging signoff at key stages of the project.
To be successful in this role, you will:
• Interpret business requirements to ensure that designs meet the needs of
all target user groups.
• Be confident with discovery phases, tree-testing, personas, competitor,
user and market research. Happy using UX research tools (such as
Livesession, Optimizely and Lysnna) to gain insights, interpret heatmaps
and present these to stakeholders to guide decision making and influence
prioritisation.
• Creating UX journey flow diagrams to help stakeholders visualise where
new features might cause blockers or create new opportunities.
• Create wireframes, hi-fidelity mobile and desktop designs and prototypes
in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate a high level of expertise in Figma / Balsamiq or other design /
wireframing tools as well as strong agile and UX principles.
• Able to design and maintain reusable components in Figma, and work
with developers to bring it into reality; transforming the design system into
a maintainable and well-documented code component library using
Storybook or similar.
• Collaborate with copywriters, ensuring that your designs are FCA
compliant.
• Collaborate with product owners to ensure that designs are completed to
a high technical standard, and tickets can be easily and correctly
interpreted by developers and QAs.
• Manage the user feedback survey, communicating directly with customers
to arrange interviews, collating useful qualitative feedback, and presenting
it back to stakeholders to influence business requirements.
• Lead regular UX review meetings, where you will be required to investigate
user feedback and identify any potential UX issues with recently released
features. Bugs and feature requests can then be added to the backlog.
• Responsible for facilitating UX ceremonies during the requirements
gathering, design and post-release phases; with both internal stakeholders
and end users. This might include card-sorting, speak-aloud sessions, focus
groups, developer UX handovers, retros etc. You will then collate data from
these sessions and report back to stakeholders to
back up your design decisions.
• Take ownership of the icon set and image libraries, collaborating with
marketing team and developers to manage those assets to ensure
consistency with the brand.
• Participate in agile scrum ceremonies with the multiple team(s) that you
may be involved in working with.
