Your future duties and responsibilities

As a DV Cleared Architect, you’ll play a vital role in the delivery of secure, mission-critical systems across the defence and intelligence space. Working as part of our expert team, you’ll be involved in the end-to-end design, planning, and implementation of technology solutions that meet complex business and security requirements. Whether your expertise lies in infrastructure, cloud, or networks, your input will help shape and futureproof the systems that underpin national security.

You’ll collaborate closely with technical teams, project leads, and stakeholders to define architectures that support high-performance, scalable and resilient systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include advising on design decisions, supporting integration efforts, managing risk, and ensuring alignment with client roadmaps and regulatory standards.

These roles offer the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment, with a strong focus on technical innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. You’ll be empowered to take ownership of your solutions and contribute to wider strategic planning within a secure delivery framework.

Depending on your specialism, responsibilities may include:

  • Architecting and managing virtualised environments using VMware Cloud Foundation, NSX and VxRail

  • Leading cloud migration strategies and hybrid environments using public/private cloud platforms

  • Designing secure network solutions and supporting migration strategies within VMware-based networks

  • Implementing identity and access management controls using SSO and PAM technologies

  • Applying structured frameworks to develop high-level and low-level architecture designs

  • Supporting the delivery of secure platforms in line with DevSecOps principles and Defence standards

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

To succeed in one of these architect roles, you’ll bring experience working in secure or regulated environments, with a background in architecture design, systems integration, and technical leadership. You’ll be comfortable engaging across multidisciplinary teams and able to translate complex requirements into practical, secure solutions that support strategic outcomes.

We’re looking for individuals with strong communication and problem-solving skills, who can balance technical depth with a broader understanding of delivery objectives. You should have experience aligning architecture to governance, security, and compliance frameworks, and a proactive mindset towards innovation and continuous improvement.

We welcome applicants from a range of architecture backgrounds – including cloud, infrastructure, and networking – who are keen to grow within a forward-thinking organisation delivering real-world impact. Certifications or demonstrable experience in relevant technology areas are highly desirable.

You’ll ideally bring experience with a range of the following:

  • VMware Cloud Foundation, NSX, and VxRail for virtualised infrastructure and secure hosting

  • Hybrid cloud environments, with exposure to public/private cloud platforms and migration frameworks

  • Network architecture, engineering, and integration, ideally in complex or multi-domain environments

  • Cloud and network security best practices, including SSO, PAM, and regulatory compliance

  • DevSecOps methodologies, and secure systems delivery within Defence or Government sectors

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. VMware, AWS, Azure, Cisco, or cloud practitioner) are a plus
