As this team is in the process of being formed, the successful candidate must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities and responsibilities may evolve. The governance team is responsible for a broad range of product operations and risk oversight initiatives, including operational risk events, issue management, audits and exams, new product approval processes, operational resiliency, and other governance-related functions. Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to take on new tasks as the organization grows will be key to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute RCSA (Risk and Control Self-Assessment) activities — identify, assess, and monitor risks, ensuring controls are effectively designed and implemented.
  • Perform ongoing refresh and annual updates of RCSA, ensuring control effectiveness is maintained and emerging risks are addressed.
  • Support other RAUs’ RCSAs by providing input where the team acts as a process owner or relier, ensuring alignment and transparency across functions.
  • Perform quality assurance on documentation, risks, and controls to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in control management, supporting product lifecycle activities, governance reviews, and approvals.
  • Use data and analytics to identify trends, monitor control effectiveness, and detect potential systemic risks or process weaknesses.
  • Partner across Product, Risk, Compliance, and Control Management teams to strengthen the control environment and promote consistent governance practices.
  • Support operational readiness and new product approval processes, ensuring control requirements and compliance considerations are met prior to launch.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, and enhance efficiency within product operations.
  • Assist in other risk oversight and product operations initiatives as needed to support broader enterprise priorities.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of RCSA processes, operational risk frameworks, and control programs.
  • Experience with global non-card payments (ACH, wire, RTP) preferred.
  • Familiarity with operational risk concepts, tools, and methodologies.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and adapt quickly to shifting priorities and multiple demands.
  • Strong project management skills for delivering results in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; able to influence and build relationships across functions and levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for multiple audiences.

  • Proficient with power point and excel for basic reporting, tracking and presentations.

  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • A proactive, resilient, and positive attitude.
