About the team
You’ll be joining the Retail, Supply Chain and Logistics Finance team, partnering closely with our Retail Omnichannel and Logistics Transformation function. The team sits at the centre of some of the most strategic decisions across the retail operation, supporting major transformation programmes focused on delivering sustainable cost savings while protecting customer experience and long‑term performance. This is a high‑profile, fast‑moving environment where finance plays a crucial role in shaping direction and driving impact.
More about the role
As Finance Manager – Retail Cost Transformation, you will act as the key Finance Business Partner to the Director of Transformation and their leadership team. You’ll provide insightful analysis, constructive challenge, and commercial guidance to influence decisions around operating costs, investment choices, and delivery of savings targets. A typical day will involve reviewing cost performance, identifying risks and opportunities, shaping prioritisation discussions, and supporting senior stakeholders to make informed trade‑offs all with a specific focus on our Savings Programme.
You’ll play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and corporate planning processes, monitor and report on CAPEX to support ROCE objectives, and own consistent, high‑quality management reporting across senior forums. In addition, you’ll lead ad‑hoc and bespoke analysis to support transformation initiatives and continuously improve how financial insight is used to drive outcomes.
More about you
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring demonstratable experience operating as a Finance Business Partner within a large and complex organisation, ideally supporting cost or transformation activity. You’ll be comfortable working in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments, able to create clarity, and confident challenging assumptions to ensure resources are focused on the right priorities.
You’ll be commercially minded, resilient, and credible with senior stakeholders, including at director level. A pragmatic, outcome‑focused mindset, combined with the ability to influence, prioritise effectively, and maintain robust financial controls, will underpin your success.
