As a Software Engineer III - ETL Associate at JPMorgan Chase, you will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of ETL jobs using AWS services like S3, Lambda, Glue, SWS, Cloud watch etc.. in incentive compensation space. Responsibility includes understanding comprehensive ETL requirements and the ability to translate design into working solutions, while maintaining and troubleshooting existing reports. Job requires an analytical and technical background, with the ability to adhere to the Agile Methodology best practices and conform to strict timelines
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Designs, analyzes, develops, tests, debugs and delivers software and/or new products as part of ETL using AWS Services within JP Morgan’s Legal Technology
  • Work with development leads/scrum masters & product owners to identify solutions to their analytic needs, develop new Data Ingestion and Transformation jobs. 
  • Identify process simplification opportunities for overall ETL and Analytic environment. Work with Cloud COE team and business partners to automate or simplify existing processes, and to remove any manual steps from data ingestion and delivery. 
  • Demonstrates good understanding of Agile framework for end to end software development and deployment tool chains.
  • Collaborates with fellow team members and keeps the team and other key stakeholders well informed of progress of application business features being developed. 

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Proficient in application development skills for more than one Cloud and Traditional Data Engineering technology including AWS Services like Glue, EMR, data warehouse.
  • Recent experience developing data ingestion from on premise applications to private cloud AWS using related services like S3, Lambda, SQS, Event Bridge, Glue/Glue Studio/Glue workflows/Glue Data Catalogue, Cloud watch, Aurora MySQL/PostgreSQL databases, and EMR with Python /Pyspark
  • Good understanding of KMS and IAM services.
  • Experience in omprehensive analysis and design experience with demonstrated knowledge of RDMS systems like Oracle, good in writing and understanding SQL, PL/SQL constructs
  • Has knowledge in CI/CD process in AWS Cloud environments, has hands on experience on any of the Infrastructure as Code service (Iac) like Terraform, Cloud Formation etc.
  • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or Engineering. 
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience coordinating development cycles and project management.

 

Preferred Qualification, Capabilities and Skills

  • Working proficiency in a selection of software engineering disciplines and demonstrates understanding of overall software skills including business analysis, development, testing, deployment, maintenance and improvement of software.
  • Experience in working with streaming services like Kafka/AWS MSK/Confluent Kafka or equivalent services.
  • Experience in developing software solutions leveraging Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Strong Experience in Oracle HCM/ICM and data ingestion to Oracle ICM
