Embark on a transformative journey as an PEGA Mainframe Developer-BA4, where you’ll perform activities related to the design, development, testing, deployment and support and maintenance of new, or existing, Barclays software applications and information systems as per the key accountabilities described below.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience with:
Build case management solutions integrating with Mainframe via REST/SOAP, MQ, and z/OS Connect.
Design scalable workflows, optimize integrations, and ensure enterprise guardrails, performance, and compliance.
Understand the various phases of the software development lifecycle.
Undertake impact assessment and estimation of change requests against applications / products within domain.
Liaise with stakeholders for any requirement clarification to take that to closure.
Responsible for design, development and local test, and adherence to all coding standards.
Documentation: Produce design specs, integration catalogs, deployment guides, and operational support documents in accordance with agreed standards, and with re-use in mind.
Report progress against assigned activities in a timely manner. Co-ordinate and communicate with colleagues to encourage ideas and build on the suggestions of others.
Be supportive within the team, both technically and culturally, to help achieve all targets set within sprint plans.
Identify own development needs and seek opportunities to address these needs through guidance, coaching and formal training.
Collaborate with other component design and build teams, ensuring that end-to-end system design is followed.
Enlist others in working towards the organisation goals takes prompt and effective action to rectify problems within the team.
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards
Raise risks and issues in a timely manner, and complete associate actions in required timeframe.

Must have experience of working in an IT project environment preferably in card acquiring domain with dispute (chargeback lifecycle) management in banking and financial sector
Solution Design: Translate business processes into PEGA case types, and integrate to mainframe services (CICS transactions, batch jobs, DB2 reads/writes).
Integration: Build and optimize REST/SOAP, MQ/JMS, file, and z/OS Connect interfaces; handle timeouts, retries, error mapping, and idempotency.
Mainframe: Collaborate with PEGA workflow teams to integrate with COBOL modules, JCL batch schedules, CICS, DB2/VSAM; support schema/version changes.
Quality & Compliance: Adhere to PEGA guardrails, code reviews, unit/integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins/Azure DevOps).
Must have Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Mainframe. Good experience of Unit testing and system testing.
Mainframe based tools used - TWS, REXX, XPEDITER, CA-View, SORT.
Hands on knowledge on FileAid and version control tool Endevor in Mainframe.
Hands on knowledge on RDBMS DB2 preferred.
Knowledge of Change, Incident and Problem Management process.
Ability to articulate and compare alternatives approaches.
Ability to draw upon professional concepts to collaborate with others to carry out assigned duties.
Ability to recognize problems related to team’s objectives / deliveries and to apply creativity / judgment to professional, technical, or operational problems.
Should be proficient in architecture and related frameworks.
