Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and independent Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team as our first QA hire. In this lead role, you will establish and drive the quality assurance processes for JobLeap’s AI-driven career assistant platform. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to identify issues early in the development cycle. Your curiosity and interest in applying AI and agent-based technologies to software testing will drive innovation in our QA processes. You'll collaborate closely with a team of 3 engineers and 1 product manager to deliver a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance Leadership: Establish and lead the QA function, defining quality standards, best practices, and strategies to ensure the highest software quality.

• Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks to ensure comprehensive coverage of our web applications.

• AI and Agent Integration: Explore and implement AI and agent-based technologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness. Develop intelligent testing agents that simulate user behaviors and detect anomalies.

• Test Planning and Execution: Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases. Execute tests (both manual and automated), analyze results, and report defects with clear reproduction steps.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the QA process and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Collaboration: Work closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements, identify test scenarios, and ensure alignment on quality goals.

• Quality Metrics and Reporting: Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts. Provide regular reports on testing progress and quality status.

• Problem Solving: Analyze complex systems to identify potential quality issues before they become problems. Proactively suggest improvements to the product and processes.

• Documentation: Document test cases, procedures, and outcomes. Maintain clear records of testing activities and outcomes for future reference.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in QA automation engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or independent role, particularly with desktop web applications.

• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to work independently, establish QA processes from the ground up, and lead QA initiatives.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in automation frameworks like Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or similar tools. Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.

• AI Interest: Demonstrated curiosity and interest in applying AI and agent-based technologies to software testing and automation.

• Testing Methodologies: Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience with both white-box and black-box testing.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to effectively collaborate in a remote, cross-functional team environment.

• Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively within a team and support team goals collaboratively.

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
