The main purpose of the job:
The Business Analyst will be responsible for the methodical investigation, analysis, review and documentation of all, or part of the business, in terms of business requirements, business processes, business functions, data and systems.
The core elements of the role will be the identification, definition and common understanding of requirements for improving processes and systems, reducing their costs, enhancing their sustainability, along with the quantification of potential business benefits.
Working with the Product Manager and the business, the Business Analyst will understand and supplement the business requirements and work with the Architects & User Experience to ensure that the correct balance is met between the needs of the customer and the requirements of the business. These requirements could be documented in a number of ways including but not limited to business scenarios, conceptual data flows, conceptual data models, Use Cases.
Taking ownership for an initiative, Product or Business Unit the Business Analyst will analyse and document the current state business process, including the people involved, the technologies used and any pain points.
These processes will be living documents with established owners and governance. Corresponding To-Be flows will be designed and managed with relevant stakeholders.
The Business Analyst will need to be able to make the complex simple and to be able to communicate this to all stakeholders. They must be able to concisely communicate the business process and context to the engineering teams to support the build or change of any solution.
The Business Analyst will work closely with Architecture, Project Management, Product Management and Engineering to understand the key business drivers, to provide business analysis services in support of projects and business as usual, to aid the achievement of Landmark Information Groups business goals.

Main tasks of the job (in order of priority):
 Understand and analyse Business problems or opportunities
 Research and analyse how segments of the business work, their end to end flows, supporting business processes, technology and participants
 Using standard business analysis techniques provide supporting diagrams utilising use cases, story boarding, scenario analysis, business process diagrams utilising BPMN2.0 for as is and to be
 Elicit project requirements and or add greater depth to existing business requirements using workshops, interviews, document/data analysis and other techniques

 Document project / product scope and goals using Use Cases
 Prepare artifacts such as business scenarios, conceptual data models, conceptual data flows and impact assessments, as required for a project/product scenario
 Define the required attributes for common governed data entities within the landmark delivery standards
 Support the Product Managers and Product Owners in undertaking requirements prioritisation activities
 Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects to ensure common understand of the business situation
 Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment to the business architecture, product management and engineering
 Assist in defining the standards and ways of working across the business analyst community
 Support development and test activities and participate in show & tells to ensure that the business requirements and user stories have been correctly interpreted and implemented to meet the business need
Team responsibilities:
 Contribute to the culture of being collaborative, curious, creative and accountable
 Ensure all teams are fully aware and understand business analysis and its artefacts
 Define, mature and embed business process analysis with ownership, applications and governed lifecycle
 Identify continuous improvement areas to improve the business analysis maturity of Landmark
 Grow and promote the internal business analyst community
 Write requirements specifications, depending on the project methodology according to standard templates,  using English language, simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely
 Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional and non-functional requirements/user stories

Qualifications & Training: 
2:1 or higher University Degree or equivalent experience 
BCS (ISEB) Certification in Business Analysis 
BPMN 2.0
UML Modelling

Job Skills and Experience: 
 Experience in business analysis, including identifying and defining requirements, business processes, business functions, data and systems
 Good communicator to all levels of stakeholders E
 Superior analytical and problem-solving skills E
 Ability to work in both waterfall and agile projects, understand the pros and cons for each and be able to input on the appropriate methodology dependent on the work
 Experience of using Microsoft Office, Jira, Visio and Confluence HD
 Experience of working with Architecture disciplines and assisting on increasing the
Business Architecture domain
