AI Optimisation Lead

About the role
We’re looking for a strategic and data-driven AI Optimisation Lead to shape the future of intelligent systems across Mortgage Advice Bureau. You’ll take ownership of our AI workflows, from lead allocation and CRM triggers to automation and enrichment, ensuring they’re not only efficient but also ethical, inclusive and aligned with business goals. You’ll be hands-on with updating RAG statuses and labelling datasets to improve accuracy and relevance. You’ll explore ways to integrate Large Language Model (LLM) APIs into our existing infrastructure and define system tuning to ensure our AI delivers accurate and engaging interactions. As the prompt engineering subject matter expert, you will embed controls and instructions to consistently deliver reliable, high performing content and outputs.
Collaborating with product and development teams, you'll integrate LLM outputs into customer-facing applications (e.g. chatbots, document processors, tools) and mortgage broker so our AI that feels human. This is a rare opportunity to shape how intelligent systems support real-world outcomes at scale.
About you
You’ll thrive in this role at MAB if you love playing with data to uncover stories and drive smarter decisions. We’re looking for someone with strong Python skills, prompt engineering exposure, sound data knowledge and a passion for optimisation. Experience in AI, data science or intelligent automation within commercial settings is ideal. You may be a recent MBA graduate with some prompt engineering experience or someone crafting a career in data/AI optimisation - whatever your path, you’ll bring curiosity and collaborative mindset that turns complexity into opportunity.
You’ll be confident designing experiments, refining models and translating insights into system improvements. Familiarity with workflow engines and AI governance frameworks is a plus.

Interview Process
1st stage interviews will take place in mid October via MS Teams, followed by an in-person 2nd stage interview at our Derby office if successful.
