The Waters Informatics department is looking for an energetic and creative computational scientist that will specialize in creating scientific mechanistic and machine learning models. This role will exist at the interface of research and development, with the individual developing, experimenting and validating mechanistic and machine learning models in the Global Research department, and also supporting the integration of these models in AWS cloud products for release as part of the Informatics department. The individual will bring to bear concepts in mathematics, chemistry and physics, as well as machine learning approaches, to contribute to the next generation of innovations in intelligent instrumentation.
The Waters Global Research team performs early, cutting-edge research on novel chromatography and mass spectrometry systems that have a direct impact on laboratory testing, drug discovery and development and food safety. We are committed to understanding customer needs and pivoting these insights into new and exciting technologies to address those needs. The role of this computational scientist will be to develop data processing algorithms and models, assist with the development of data pipelines for specialty instrument data, and experiment with new data and algorithmic features to maximize the efficiency and efficacy of the results from our analytical instrumentation.
