Job Title: Solutions Engineer

AXA is investing in all UK&I businesses to transform and deliver new digital services to our customers, automate our business processes and continue our growth. We are now looking for Solution Engineers to work in our Retail business unit which has undergone significant transformation and increased success in recent years.

You will provide hands-on technical capability within a Solution Delivery Squad contributing to secure software development, delivery and continuous improvement within the Team. Career options are available within our retail BU but you may also consider one of our other BUs covering Health and Commercial Insurance.

At AXA, we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You’ll work at least 40% of your time away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. This role will be based at Redhill, Surrey. We’re also happy to consider flexible workingarrangements which you can discuss with the Talent Acquisition Team.

What you’ll be doing:
 Implement technical solutions which meet stakeholder needs and deliver tangible benefit to AXA UK.
 Build relationships with team members and stakeholders to obtain feedback and understand priorities
 Deliver and adhere to coding standards plus our software delivery lifecycle to ensure the delivery of secure, quality systems
 Work across multiple areas of an application demonstrating a good understanding of modern security practices and standards
 Contribute to the continuous improvement of the wider engineering community

What you’ll bring:
 Relevant previous IT education and/or experience as a Software/Test Engineer
 Strong understanding of Clean Code practices, SOLID Principles and Design Patterns
 Experience and knowledge of Agile practices, principles and theories
 A partnership builder able to work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
 Able to operate effectively in an ambiguous environment when the way forward is not always clear
 Contributes new and better ways for AXA UK to continue its success
