The Director, Fintech Partnerships serves as both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor, driving the growth, development, and long-term success of some of Sage’s largest and most strategic Financial Technology (Fintech) partners. In this player-coach role, you will lead by example — setting vision and strategy while actively engaging in high-impact execution to foster, nurture, and expand our strategic partner ecosystem. You will establish and maintain senior-level (C-suite, sales, and product) relationships with key Fintech partners, driving joint go-to-market initiatives that deliver measurable revenue growth through SMB customer acquisition across global markets (NA, UKI, EU, ZA). Acting as a trusted advisor and leader, you will mentor and guide both internal teams and partners, aligning cross-functional efforts to unlock new opportunities and deliver outsized business impact.
You will develop and deliver commercial strategies, and contractual frameworks that underpin a best-in-class partner relationship model. This includes identifying and prioritizing new partnership opportunities, conducting strategic assessments, and building scalable, integrated partnerships deeply embedded in Sage’s core software offerings. The ideal candidate is a proven fintech partnership leader — an executive who can shape strategy, build and lead teams, and roll up their sleeves to personally drive complex deals to completion. Through your leadership and example, Sage will realize accelerated partner-driven customer acquisition, sustainable revenue and a thriving, innovative-driven Fintech ecosystem.
What You'll Do:
Responsibilities
Support and development of wider Fintech Partnership Strategy. Identify and secure commercial relationships with Fintech ISVs that are fully integrated/delivered as core features of the Sage product set globally. Identify and implement partner integrations in the market.
Revenue Delivery - Achievement of expected new customer adoption, £8-10m in payments revenues and customer goals, the incumbent will define and drive acquisition activities.
Subject Matter Expertise
Stay informed of current local marketplace trends in Fintech and be the SME for internal sage
stakeholders. Contribute to the overall vision, strategy, and execution plan. Collaborate with internal teams to maximize value of partnerships and revenues. Negotiate commercial terms, legal and financial agreements, such as NDA’s & MSA’s, etc.
Ongoing Relationship Development – Ongoing day to day management of Strategic Fintech Partners that include communication, regarding fintech systems performance, delivery of key product enhancements on the roadmap, planned marketing and demand / lead generation activities and performance of the operating model. Working with the Partner to ensure performance is aligned to agreed contractual terms and revenue targets.
What You'll Bring
Requirements:
• Undergraduate and 8+ years of work experience in Fintech
• 4+ years of Leadership / Management experience
• Consulting Experience: Experience in a consulting role, ideally focused on revenue growth, business transformation, or operational optimization.
• Proven Track Record: Proven ability to develop end-to-end strategies that drive measurable revenue growth through strategic consulting and effective implementation.
• Analytical Expertise: Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data, market trends, and sales performance to generate actionable insights.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute long-term revenue growth strategies that align with business goals.
• Sales & Marketing Knowledge: Deep understanding of sales processes, marketing strategies, customer lifecycle management, and revenue-generating activities.
• Project Management Skills: Proven project management experience with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously while driving results.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present findings and strategies and influence C-suite executives and stakeholders.
• Problem Solving: Ability to identify challenges quickly and devise creative, data-backed solutions to drive business performance.
