The Credit Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day cash collections for a specific portfolio of clients, with a primary focus on optimising cash collections and query resolution, reducing overdue debt (DSO) and aged debts. This role will also involve ensuring cash and credit notes are allocated on time and accurately.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
· Proactively contact all customers within your portfolio at least once per month regarding outstanding debt.
· Log and escalate all customer queries to the Query Resolution (QR) team promptly and accurately.
· Ensure all customer statements and dunning letters are accurate and distributed according to agreed schedules.
· Support the Credit Manager by preparing accurate and timely debtor reports for senior management meetings.
· Build and maintain professional relationships with customers to ensure timely debt collection.
· Identify and proactively contact customers with high Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) due to late payment behaviour.
· Maintain up-to-date customer billing and contact information.
· Assist in ensuring all Direct Debit collections are completed on time and correctly posted to the ledger.
· Record detailed notes on overdue accounts in the system to support effective debtor meetings.
· Investigate, action and resolve queries to optimise cash collection and debt reduction.
· Contribute to cash allocation by assisting with accurate posting of incoming payments.
· Comply with One Advanced policies, processes, and relevant legislation throughout all activities.
· Demonstrate flexibility in undertaking duties, and perform additional tasks as required by the role.
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive improvements in payment promptness.
· Provide ad hoc support to the broader UK Finance organisation as needed.
· Maintain ongoing personal and professional development, participating in learning and training activities.
Systems, Controls & Governance
· Ensure financial processes and controls align with company finance policies.
· Efficiently manage accounts receivable obligations, ensuring timely collections.
· Document, maintain, and develop transactional process documentation.
· Identify and discuss process improvements with the Credit Manager to strengthen the control environment and improve team efficiency.
Change Management & Process Improvement
· Be an advocate for change, embracing and supporting the organisation’s change agenda.
· Seek out and implement opportunities to improve process efficiency within the Finance Operations team.

· Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of the full Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle.
· Proven ability to work with and influence internal stakeholders, ensuring process adherence and consistency.
· Ideally experienced with Salesforce and NetSuite.
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced finance function, preferably within SaaS, Insurance, or Financial Services sectors.
· Skilled in problem-solving: able to clearly articulate issues and recommend effective solutions.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to correspond professionally and sensitively with internal and external stakeholders.
· Confident, articulate, and committed to personal and team development.
· Enthusiastic, adaptable, and proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements.
· Strong IT proficiency, with excellent Excel and system skills.
· Highly organised, detail-oriented, and process-driven.
· Open, straightforward, and positive attitude with a collaborative approach.
