As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and community banking technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Serves as the main point of contact during major incidents for your application and have the skills to identify and solve the issue quickly to avoid financial loss to the business
Responsible for Code Reviews, Perf Test Results & Test Evidence and change requests before production deployment, and raising flags for any issues with code, test evidence, or change backout strategies.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
Experience managing applications or infrastructure in a large-scale technology environment both on public cloud preferably AWS
Proficient in observability and monitoring tools and techniques
Fluent in at least one programming language such as: Python, Java/Spring Boot.
Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with emerging depth in one or more technical disciplines
Proficient knowledge and experience in observability such as white and black box monitoring, service level objective alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, and others
Proficient with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform
Proficient with container and container orchestration: (ECS, Kubernetes, Docker)
Experience with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
Actively self-educates, evaluate new technology, and recommend suitable ones
