Automation Software Test Lead

QA Lead - 5 month contract initially

About You

As a QA Lead, you will be a champion of testing, coordinating with product experts and developers in an Agile environment. As a result, you will need to be able to:

• Develop comprehensive test strategies that encompass various testing phases, including unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing
• Spearhead the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks and scripts, ensuring efficient and effective test execution
• Ensure the highest quality of software by implementing rigorous QA processes, including test planning, execution, defect tracking, and management
• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers and testers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement in testing practices
• Working closely with the development teams to ingrain Quality engineering principles to optimise cycle time
• Take a lead on each fortnightly release

To do that, it’s essential you bring the following:

• Substantial experience of Test Management at a senior level, ability to lead teams and work independently
• Experience of establishing test practices within Agile delivery environments
• Has successfully embedded test driven and test led approaches
• Understands the Test Pyramid and has implemented strategies to avoid Testing Ice Cream Cone
• Significant experience in test automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery
• Experience with test management tools Automation testing, cypress, typescript, API testing, postman, manual testing
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

It’s helpful if you also have:

• Extensive knowledge of, or experience in, a range of types of non-functional testing.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring your colleagues and peers.
