Oversees daily tasks of derivatives operations and assumes accountability and ownership of the operational analysis and review of valuations, position reconciliation, cash projection and collateral management.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversees the daily derivatives operations tasks and transactional processes. Assumes accountability and ownership for the analysis and review of derivatives valuation models, position reconciliation, cash projection, collateral management, and margin settlement functions to support investment management decisions by fund advisors.
- Maintains ownership for the daily maintenance of applicable general ledger accounts and market value control impacts. Serves as an operational expert in ensuring functions are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with both internal and external clients and business partners. Proactively fosters effective communication. Anticipates clients' needs and ensures clients' satisfaction related to the services being provided.
- Creates and reviews required quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports for use in the funds' financial statements and for examination by our external auditors for data regarding derivatives.
- Mentors and coaches other team members. Serves as a cross trained resource to the department, shares expertise. Supports operational coverage and on-the-job training. Provides regular feedback regarding team performance to the management team.
- Partners with the team to foster a comprehensive conceptual understanding of processes and their impact to internal and external clients. Understands and recommends solutions to mitigate business risks by implementing process improvements related to department and team workflows. Researches and evaluates derivatives regulation changes and market events that may impact operational processes.
- Ensures accountability for comprehensive documentation of all current policies and procedures.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years related work experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
