Python Software Engineer

We're reimagining how we use data by moving to the cloud and crafting smarter, faster, and more personalised experiences for our customers. As part of this journey, our Digital & Data team is hiring mid-level Python engineers to help bring ground breaking data products to life.

You’ll be working on impactful services such as dynamic pricing, personalisation APIs, and customer identity solutions. These are products at the heart of our digital journeys — backed by machine learning, supported by scalable APIs, and powered by cloud platforms.

What you’ll do:

• Build, test and deploy backend APIs that serve machine learning outputs and customer logic
• Productionise model training and scoring pipelines from data science notebooks
• Craft cloud-native data services using Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Collaborate remotely with engineers, analysts and data scientists via pair programming
• Contribute to agile development processes, including code reviews and unit testing

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

• Proven experience working with Python in a production environment
• Hands-on experience developing and supporting RESTful APIs
• Comfortable writing clean, testable, scalable code
• Understanding of software engineering best practices (version control, testing, CI/CD)
• Effective communication skills — able to collaborate in remote-first and agile teams

The other stuff we're looking for

We'd also love you to bring;

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Docker, or Kubernetes
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, unit testing frameworks, and agile methodologies
• Familiarity with machine learning services or data science collaboration (not essential to have a DS background)
