Data Architect - Data Democratisation

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Democratisation Architect to play a 
pivotal role in shaping and implementing our data democratisation strategy.

The Data Democratisation Architect will be responsible for designing and architecting scalable and sustainable solutions that enable seamless access to data, promote self-service 
analytics, and drive data literacy across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements 
and translate them into scalable data democratisation solutions.

• Design and architect data platforms, frameworks, and tools that facilitate self service analytics, data discovery, and data sharing, incorporating principles of 
Data Mesh architecture.

• Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and best practices 
to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

• Lead the evaluation and selection of data democratisation technologies, tools, 
and vendors, with a focus on Data Mesh-compatible solutions.

• Establish data literacy programs, training sessions, and workshops to promote a 
culture of data-driven decision-making.

• Drive adoption and usage of data democratisation solutions through effective 
change management, communication, and training initiatives.

• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in 
data democratisation, including advancements in Data Mesh architecture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles, with a 
focus on data democratisation initiatives.

• Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance 
frameworks, and data security standards.

• Expertise in designing and implementing data platforms, data lakes, data 
warehouses, and self-service analytics solutions.

• Proficiency in data modelling, ETL processes, data integration, and data 
visualisation tools.

• Experience with Data Mesh architecture and its application in large-scale data 
environments is highly desirable.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic 
environment.

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data 
technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, DBT) is a plus.

• TOGAF certification is desirable, and experience with Business Architecture is 
highly desirable.

• Certifications in data management, data architecture, or related areas are 
desirable.
