💼 About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to work with us in building cutting-edge infrastructure to support LLMs and knowledge-based systems.
The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in designing and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our AI-driven solutions. Working closely with the founding team, this role offers the opportunity to build foundational systems and influence the technical direction of the company.
🔥 Key Responsibilities
- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable infrastructure to support backend services and machine learning workflows, ensuring reliability and fault tolerance.
- Setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid iteration and delivery of features.
- Automating infrastructure deployment using IaC tools to ensure reproducibility and efficiency.
- Managing and optimising containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes (or alternatives).
- Monitoring system performance and implementing observability tools to detect, diagnose, and resolve issues proactively.
- Ensuring compliance with security best practices, including regular vulnerability assessments and implementing secure-by-design principles.
- Collaborating with engineering teams to implement best practices for cloud-native architectures and workflows.
- Staying up to date with the latest advancements in cloud and DevOps technologies, continuously improving the infrastructure to meet evolving needs.
- Supporting cost optimization efforts by analysing and tuning resource utilisation across infrastructure components.
😊 About You
As a Senior DevOps engineer, you may succeed in this role if you:
- Have at least 5 years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure and deployment pipelines, primarily within product-oriented companies.
Additionally, the following would be considered advantageous:
- Prior experience working in an early-stage startup environment.
- Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, including infrastructure requirements for training and deploying machine learning models.
- Knowledge of managing healthcare data and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA or GDPR.
- Are skilled at automating and optimising cloud infrastructure to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and scalable.
- Possess deep knowledge of AWS or similar cloud providers, including hands-on experience with services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, and networking components.
- Have expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Pulumi to define, manage, and version infrastructure.
- Are experienced in container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, AWS Fargate, or similar solutions, and can design scalable deployment systems.
- Can set up, monitor, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient delivery and integration of software changes.
- Are skilled in implementing observability tools for logging, monitoring, and alerting (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog) to ensure system performance and uptime.
- Demonstrate an understanding of security best practices, including access management, data encryption, vulnerability scanning, and compliance considerations.
- Have a collaborative mindset, working closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure and applications.
- Are comfortable taking ownership in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and effectively balancing trade-offs between speed and robustness.
