Salary: Up to £50,163.74 (£43,527,51 basic salary per annum with yearly increments based on performance plus a non-contractual/non pensionable Skills Framework for the Information Age supplement of up to £6636.23 amount awarded either 0%.50% or 100% based on validation of self-assessment ).

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: To be based at one of our main hubs (London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Leeds or Glasgow) London Allowance of £4,613,61 payable to London based candidates only 

Type of Working Arrangement: Blended approach of home and office-working is available

Hours: 37 hours per week

 The Opportunity:

Are you looking for your next exciting career move? British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for an Applications Specialist to provide second and some third line technical support and maintenance for assigned Business Applications directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. 

What you'll be doing

  •  Incident resolution including investigation and resolution of issues and proactive performance monitoring.
  • Providing support, advice and/or training to users, making general or site-specific modifications,
  • Creating and updating documentation, manipulating data, or defining enhancements. 
  • Close collaboration with the others (e.g. Solution Architects, DBA's (Database Administrators) and/or with colleagues specialising in different portfolios, such as Service Management, Cyber Security, Information Management and Network Support).
  • To support Business Applications projects (upgrades, decommissioning and/or onboarding of new systems). 
  • To provide technical support and maintenance for assigned production business applications.

This position includes participation in an out of hours on-call rota 

What you'll bring to the team

  • Accredited to ITIL Foundation Level or higher.
  • Educated to HND Level or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in an application analyst role supporting one or more core business applications in a 24x7 environment.
