Cybersecurity is essential to Capital One’s commitment to protect our customers and associates. We’re looking for an individual who’s passionate about cybersecurity and risk management. You see security as an innovation enabler and differentiator, not a step in the compliance process. You thrive working with business and technology partners to achieve goals and objectives in a secure manner.
We're excited to be looking for someone to join our Cyber Data Loss Prevention Security Operations team, which monitors internal activity within the company to detect potential data loss events. We're on a journey to expand and mature in our function, and this role will be pivotal in facilitating that upwards transition. As part of the overall Insider Threat & Technical Investigations organisation, you'll be working along-side industry-leading experts providing support and driving risk reduction.
About this role
As a candidate for this role, you’re able to use your experience to triage alerts from our DLP tooling, and work to identify areas of risk, and solve for potential solutions. You are naturally curious and stay on top of emerging trends and threats. You are not afraid to question any existing processes and solutions, yet you display a keen sense of business value proposition and focus on the right priorities. You are a clear thinker, thrive in working across teams, and an expert in dealing with ambiguity. You believe that a core component of security’s role is to enable the business, not just to secure it, and the solutions you bring to life are aligned to the needs of our developer community and business partners. You thrive in working in a fast paced, technologically forward leaning environment and are not afraid to push the boundaries of security capabilities.
What you’ll do
Review and respond to DLP alerts at Capital One from our suite of tools.
Understand technology infrastructure and operational processes in order to enable a more effective response process.
Assist in creating catalogs detailing DLP response processes and procedures.
Work to help develop, follow, and maintain ‘playbooks’ which provide a visual depiction of various operational response workflows.
Identify and enhance processes where automation has the potential to improve efficiency.
Work with large datasets to notice trends and opportunities - giving us a data-driven approach to risk
We are committed to creating a level playing field and seek to create teams that are representative of our customers and the communities we serve. We’d love to hear from you if you identify with a typically under-represented group in our industry and are particularly keen to hear from women, the LGBTQ+ community and ethnic minority candidates.
Where and how you'll work
What we’re looking for
Expert knowledge of Data Loss Prevention (DLP), data analytics, cyber investigations, incident management, or investigative programs and the ability to identify risks and advise on solutions and mitigations.
Experience in effectively understanding and communicating DLP concepts, trends, people risk, or conduct risk program management.
Highly skilled at critical thinking, writing, and briefing.
