It’s an exciting time to join the Digital team here at AXA Health, with significant investment planned in all UK&I businesses to transform and deliver new digital services to our customers; and to streamline and automate our business processes. We’re looking for an experienced Lead Test Engineer to join our Engineering team, to help with the delivery of our digital roadmap, develop our people and capabilities, and support our Engineering strategy to drive improvements across all teams.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a product-led operating model. In this model, all our teams align with value streams, which means that we have the necessary resources to take an idea from conception to completion with minimal handoffs. Our current focus is on developing our Single Digital Platform, which is based on Salesforce and involves a significant .NET estate, use of Azure services, and React frontend web applications.

As a Lead Test Engineer, you will learn about recent technology trends and be able to influence the organisation to make the right choices. Our engineers are highly collaborative, they respect opinions and strive for continual improvement. You will contribute to our highly motivating atmosphere, in which people feel energized and enthusiastic about achieving common goals.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025, this could mean working from your assigned local office or travelling for business purposes. Our local office locations include Leeds, Middlesbrough, Bristol, Tunbridge Wells, and Bournemouth. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing:

  • As a lead, you'll act as a line manager and be responsible for supervising and guiding a team of test engineers, sharing best practices in manual test execution and prioritizing exploratory testing in complex end-to-end environments
  • Overseeing testing activities within a team responsible for frequent code deployments and delivery of business value to production environments
  • You'll be expected to uplift existing capabilities, with a focus on performance testing and test automation
  • You'll be responsible for leading the technical design, implementation and maintenance of test automation projects within a CI/CD environment

  • Coding Experience is essential (Java script or Typescript would be advantageous)
  • Experience with Load testing / Simulating load with ability to evidence and report on results
