As Head of Product – Commerce, you will define and lead the product strategy for all commerce-related systems across Cox Automotive Europe. This is a hands on role and includes full ownership of invoicing, payments, reconciliation, and accounting capabilities that power our vehicle marketplaces. You will drive innovation in how financial transactions are initiated, processed, and settled—ensuring seamless, compliant, and scalable commerce experiences across multiple European markets.
This role requires deep expertise in digital payments, financial product design, and regulatory compliance, combined with strong leadership and commercial acumen.
- Define and execute the product vision for commerce infrastructure, aligned with Cox Automotive’s pan-European growth and compliance strategy.
- Own the roadmap for:
- Invoicing & Billing: Automated invoice generation, reconciliation, and multi-currency support.
- Payment Ecosystems: Supplier selection and integration with payment gateways
- Accounting & Reconciliation: Real-time transaction matching, ledger accuracy, and financial reporting.
- Compliance Automation: PSP, VAT, PSD2, AML, and audit trail capabilities.
- Lead a team of Product Managers focused on:
- Payments & Settlements: Real-time and scheduled payments, refunds, and chargeback handling.
- Tax & Regulatory Compliance: PSP compliance, Automated VAT calculations, cross-border duty handling, and AML/KYC workflows.
- Financial Intelligence: AI/ML-driven tools for predictive cash flow, invoice matching, and fraud detection.
- Partner with Architecture and Engineering to build scalable, API-first commerce platforms that integrate seamlessly with internal and third-party systems.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Compliance teams to ensure all financial systems meet EU regulatory standards.
- Align with Marketplace and Data Product teams to ensure commerce capabilities support end-to-end vehicle transaction flows.
- Drive operational efficiency through automation (e.g., reducing manual invoice processing by 70%).
- Identify and develop monetisable commerce features (e.g., white-label invoicing or embedded finance tools for OEMs and dealers).
- Lead strategic partnerships with fintech providers to enhance the breadth and depth of our payment and accounting capabilities.
- Communicate the value of commerce innovation to executive stakeholders, linking financial infrastructure to revenue growth and operational excellence.
- Engage with clients to co-design invoicing and payment solutions tailored to their business models.
- Represent Cox Automotive at industry events as a thought leader in automotive commerce and financial technology.
- 10+ years in Product Leadership, with 5+ years focused on digital commerce, payments, or financial systems in B2B SaaS, fintech, or marketplace environments.
- Proven experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud and payment gateways (e.g., Stripe).
- Deep understanding of EU financial regulations (PSP, PSD2, VAT, AML) and compliance automation.
- Technical fluency in API integrations, PCI DSS, and AI/ML applications in financial workflows.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of reducing operational costs or monetising commerce capabilities.
- Experience in automotive, fintech, or B2B marketplaces.
- Familiarity with embedded finance, digital wallets, or BNPL models.
- Multilingual and pan-European market experience.
