To help us achieve our ambitious goals within our 2035 strategy; from Manchester for the world, we’re looking for an experienced and creative insight professional to join the Market and Student Insight Team. Within this exciting role, you will help drive the University’s strategic goals and ambitions by embedding a data driven approach to decision making; bringing complex data to life with compelling narratives and insights that colleagues can act upon.
You will work with colleagues across the University to develop a deep understanding of the external market through the analysis and interpretation of various data sources, spotting emerging trends and identifying future opportunities to optimise the University’s position within a fast-changing sector. With an ability to turn raw data into insight, you will enjoy drawing meaning from complex data sources and joining up the dots to tell a compelling story that a wide variety of audiences can understand.
With established market analysis experience, you will have highly developed skills in the manipulation and analysis of complex data to answer key business issues, connecting insight with the broader business context. Skills in data visualisation platforms (e.g. PowerBI) are a must, alongside the critical ability to communicate this via compelling outputs such as reports, dashboards, presentations and webinars. Excellent planning and organisational skills, with sound project management skills and stakeholder engagement are key requirements, alongside an analytical mindset, with exemplary attention to detail.
An interest or skills in forecasting or data modelling would be advantageous as would a willingness to learn and apply AI to enhance the role and the team’s work. Knowledge of programming languages or data architecture and workflows would also be beneficial.
In return for your expertise, you will find support to explore new ideas, a creative and friendly working environment, and plenty of opportunities to help shape the future of our busy team. With flexible, hybrid working arrangements alongside a generous annual leave allowance, pension scheme and other benefits, the University is an attractive place for the right individual to further develop their career at this exciting time of change and opportunity.
