Fraud & non-Financial Risk Analytics Team at GAC is an integral part of the GAC Fraud & NFR Management Services providing cutting-edge data-driven insights to reduce the Fraud losses, on financial risks and drive operational efficiency and improve customer experience. The GAC Team as part of the Global Data & Analytics team forms the information basis for strategic planning by the senior management for fraud & NFR mitigation and enables effective decision making to satisfy business needs and requirements along with addressing unforeseen challenges. The role is an Individual Contributor role and responsible for functionally delivering the Fraud Strategic initiatives across markets in line with the vision of adopting best in class fraud analytics solutions and allowing the business to make appropriate strategic decisions to reduce fraud and non-financial risk.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager, Data and Analytics

In this role, you will:

  • Execute various analyses and develop strategies to support business decisions across the customer’s lifecycle for a particular product/market
  • Provide support for analytical/strategy projects. Complete analysis as required and document results and present findings to stakeholders. Identify business problems/new opportunities to drive higher business value. Diagnose and resolve moderate to complex analytical problems
  • Execute moderate to complex analysis and strategy with proper instructions. Write efficient codes to process data for the required business problems. Ability to convert business problems to an analytical problem.
  • Providing high-quality analysis and strategy recommendations to business problems. Manage delivery within agreed timelines and as per agreed quality standards. Also drive business benefit through self-initiated projects
  • Learn new skills (domain / technical) and apply to solve business problems as required. Strict adherence to the HSBC Core Values. Prior hands-on experience in Banking domain and Fraud/Financial Crime tools and platforms will be preferred
  • Being part of the IWPB Fraud & Mule analytics  team the candidate needs to deliver and deploy suit of capabilities in Money Mule space across markets by designing Money Mule risk typologies across Customer life-cycle stages(Onboarding, Early Stage, Portfolio) by building Anomaly detection models ,rules and graph network solutions .The candidate needs to work closely with multiple stakeholders and  teams to drive the solutions to implementation. The candidate should exhibit. 
  • Proven expertise in using statistical / ML algorithms for solving diverse business challenges and creating significant business value. Knowledge and exposure to cloud analytics platforms such as GCP, AWS Redshift, Azure etc. will be preferred.

To be successful you will:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience of using statistical concepts and (or) machine learning models to solve complex business problems
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from reputed university with specialization in numerical discipline engineering specializations. Understanding of financial services/ banking operations preferred.
  • Good knowledge of programming tools, preferably with proficiency in any one or combination of tools such as SAS, SQL, Big query, Python. Business problem solving skills are essential
  • Proven expertise in building statistical and (or) ML models for solving diverse business challenges and creating significant business value
  • Knowledge and exposure to cloud analytics platforms such as GCP, AWS Redshift, Azure etc. would be a plus but not mandatory. Enthusiasm for proactively seeking, exploring and developing use cases for new data and/or tools/wider industry trends
  • This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also, and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.
  • The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
