Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of geospatial and remote sensing components for large-scale BINS databases.
- Apply strong geospatial and remote sensing concepts with practical, application-level understanding.
- Perform updating and maintenance of BINS databases, including geocoding and reverse geocoding processes.
- Design and implement Python-based GIS automation using GeoPandas, ArcPy, and PyQGIS.
- Understanding and experience of geoservers, spatial projections, raster and vector manipulation within Python and usage of GDAL.
- Conduct geospatial analysis to ensure spatial accuracy, consistency, and data quality.
- Work as a member with a multi-faceted research team in ensuring the best geospatial practices.
- Develop and validate code used to join geospatial data to relational database attributes.
- Create maps, charts, and visualizations to validate findings and communicate results.
- Write technical documentation for internal use and distribution to clients.
- Create and deliver presentations explaining analysis methods and outcomes to team members.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement practical enhancements.
Qualifications
- B Tech or M Tech or M.Sc. (in Geo-Informatics/Data Science/Remote Sensing & GIS) or Spatial Technologies.
- Fluent in software of QGIS/ARCGIS Desktop / ArcGIS Pro and Google Earth Pro technologies
- Hands-on experience with geospatial libraries and tools such as GDAL, Rasterio, GeoPandas, Fiona, Shapely, PyProj, etc.
- Working Knowledge of Python, R, and Open-Source Geospatial platform (SNAP, GDAL, SAGA, etc.), PostgreSQL & SQL Server
- Ensuring effective measures for the project to be completed with good quality and on time.
- Design, develop, maintaining Geospatial databases, and spatial analysis.
- Excellent communication skills in project documentation/ technical presentations.
- Possess a positive attitude and work independently.
- Willingness to learn and apply new technologies, strategies, and theories is crucial.
- Open-minded and receptive to feedback and suggestions.
