- Oversee day-to-day technology support for JPMorganChase's Macro e-Trading platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to latency-sensitive electronic trading channels across FX, Commodities, Rates, and Credit. Act as the senior escalation point for complex production issues in a high-pressure, time-sensitive trading environment.
- Own end-to-end incident and problem management processes, ensuring rapid resolution of production issues. Drive post-incident reviews, root cause analysis, and the implementation of preventive measures to continuously improve service reliability and reduce recurrence.
- Lead service improvement programs with a focus on proactive monitoring, early detection, and elimination of systemic issues. Champion best practices aligned with SRE principles to elevate the team's operational maturity and reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR).
- Drive an automation-first mindset across the team by designing, developing, and deploying tools and scripts to reduce manual toil, improve operational efficiency, and enhance productivity. Identify opportunities for process automation and lead their implementation.
- Plan, manage, monitor, and optimize production infrastructure including Linux hosts, distributed computing environments, database systems, and network components. Ensure robust capacity planning and resiliency management to support the demands of ultra-low latency trading platforms.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior stakeholders across eTrading Sales, Trading desks, Application Development teams, and infrastructure partners across the EMEA and global regions. Communicate effectively with both business and technology audiences to align priorities and drive outcomes.
- Develop and maintain deep subject matter expertise across JPMorganChase's entire e-Trading technology stack, encompassing both technical architecture and business workflows. Serve as a go-to authority for the team and broader organization on platform capabilities, dependencies, and risk areas.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and accountability. Support knowledge sharing and cross-training to build team depth and resilience.
- Participate in rotational weekend support, typically once every 6-7 weeks, to ensure continuous coverage and platform stability.
Key Skills Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in application development and/or production support within the financial services domain, with significant exposure to electronic trading environments.
- Strong knowledge of FX, Commodities, and/or Rates, Credit trading, particularly within e-Trading platforms. Solid understanding of trade lifecycle, market microstructure, and the demands of a low-latency trading floor.
- Hands-on expertise with Linux/UNIX environments, scripting languages (Python, Shell, Perl), and database systems (Oracle or similar). Ability to read, interpret, and diagnose scripts and system behavior in real time during production incidents.
- Knowledge and practical experience with FIX protocol and electronic trading message flows.
- Familiarity with ultra-low latency messaging technologies such as 29West / Informatica.
- Strong understanding of production infrastructure components including distributed computing, networking, and capacity management.
- Proven ability to think critically and resolve complex issues under pressure in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. Demonstrated track record of driving root cause analysis and implementing lasting fixes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with traders, senior business stakeholders, and technology partners at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to build tools and automate processes for improved productivity, or a strong eagerness and aptitude to develop these capabilities.
- Proven ability to lead by example and drive cross-functional collaboration across global teams.
