This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the M&S–Ocado partnership and help drive the next stage of our journey together. Sitting at the heart of trading performance, category transformation and partnership delivery, this role will be instrumental in ensuring M&S continues to grow sales, visibility and customer impact on the Ocado platform.

As a 12-month secondment, this role offers a fantastic stretch opportunity and real step up for someone looking to broaden their commercial exposure. The role works closely with Senior Commercial Managers and Directors across the M&S Food business, as well as key partners at Ocado, providing strong senior engagement and the opportunity to influence decisions on one of our most strategically important channels.

What you’ll do

  • Drive M&S performance on Ocado across sales, volume and participation, leading weekly and monthly performance reporting and interpreting data from multiple systems to inform trade meetings and updates.
  • Model, track and report on the impact of key initiatives, including product launches and category transformations, and lead post-implementation reviews for seasonal events and major changes.
  • Lead category performance reviews on Ocado, working closely with Ocado counterparts and M&S commercial teams to land category transformations and optimise product visibility using site trading levers.
  • Manage and improve M&S product content on Ocado, leading imagery and product description upgrade projects and overseeing the budget to enhance product information on the site.
  • Drive the M&S–Ocado partnership, leading the bi-monthly Commercial Working Group, building the communications and engagement plan, and acting as an advocate for the Ocado opportunity across M&S teams.

What we need from you

  • Strong commercial foresight, ideally with experience in buying, category management or account management.
  • Ability to analyse commercial and customer data, interpreting multiple data sources to see opportunities and drive performance improvements.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships across M&S and Ocado teams.
  • Clear decision making and strong attention to detail, with confidence to challenge and drive action on underperforming categories.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and strong team mentality, with a genuine desire to succeed and deliver results.
