TechOps Engineer - must be in a commutable distance of either London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds or Edinburgh. The role is mostly remote, with occasional trips to the office for team days.

The Tech Principal will use their expert tech knowledge to influence the direction of projects, whilst coaching a team through engineering best practices to build and deliver remarkable products. They will champion software quality and technical vision for AND and our clients, work on large-scale projects and support the team to grow in their roles.

What you’ll bring to the table:


The Role:

We are looking for a seasoned TechOps Engineer with at least 4 years of experience to join our team.

In this role, you'll own our cloud-first environment, empowering our global workforce on Macs and Chromebooks to be secure, compliant, and highly productive. You will drive key technical projects, build automations to make everyone's life easier, and play a vital role in ensuring we are always prepared for audits and certifications like ISO:27001.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Platform Management: Act as an administrator for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, managing complex migrations, advanced licensing and cross-platform integrations.
  • Identity & Access: Okta lifecycle management (provisioning/deprovisioning), MFA enforcement, and SSO integrations for all enterprise applications.
  • Endpoint Engineering: Manage a diverse fleet using MDM solutions (e.g., Jamf, Kandji, or Google Endpoint) ensuring and maintaining zero-touch deployment.
  • Security & Compliance: Maintain and monitor Anti-Malware/EDR tooling. Ensure all technical controls align with ISO:27001 standards and assist in annual audit preparations.
  • Collaboration Tooling: Advanced proficiency administrating Slack, including app integrations, workflow builder, and enterprise grid management.
  • ITIL Process Leadership: Champion ITIL best practices for Incident, Request, Problem and Change Management to ensure high service availability and minimal downtime.
  • Patch Management: Monitor new and emerging vulnerabilities to tech stack, testing and implementing patches inline with policy.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Experience: 4+ years in a TechOps, Systems Admin, or IT Engineering role in a high-growth environment.
  • OS Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of Apple macOS and ChromeOS (hardware and software lifecycle).
  • The "Core Four": Proven track record of administering Okta, Slack, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365.
  • Security Mindset: Hands-on experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Anti-Malware/EDR (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).
  • Compliance Knowledge: Practical understanding of ISO:27001 controls and how they translate to technical configurations.
  • Service Standards: Strong understanding of the ITIL framework (Certification is a plus).

Desirable skills:

  • Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or Apps Script) to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Experience with BetterCloud or other SaaS Management Platforms (SMP).
  • Experience managing Zoom Rooms or modern AV hardware.
  • Experience using Jira/Confluence/Atlassian
  • Experience with AI tooling. Gemini, Claude etc
  • Understanding of Cloud Infrastructure Services such as AWS, GCP, Azure
