We are recruiting for a Contract Content Designer for a 3 month initial contract, starting ASAP.
The role: Content Designer: GEO and SEO
2 days a week in London, Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
Content Systems & Structure
- Design content systems that support omnichannel delivery and machine readability
- Implement structured content using metadata, tagging, and schema markup
- Collaborate with UX, design, and engineering teams to integrate:
- Headless CMS models
- Component libraries
SEO, GEO & Discoverability
- Develop SEO and GEO-informed content frameworks
- Ensure content is optimised for:
- Global search visibility
- Multilingual markets
- Local relevance
- Define and implement metadata strategies, including:
- Taxonomies
- Schema.org markup
- Entity tagging
AI & LLM Content Optimisation
- Model and author content for LLM consumption, ensuring clarity, structure, and context
- Optimise content for visibility across AI-powered platforms (e.g. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity)
- Apply principles of semantic content design and structured data to future-proof content
Performance & Optimisation
- Partner with analytics, research, and SEO teams to:
- Measure content performance
- Improve intent alignment
- Increase visibility across traditional and generative search
- Continuously optimise content based on insights and performance data
Governance & Delivery
- Maintain documentation, governance frameworks, and scalable content models
- Ensure consistency and efficiency across content operations
- Create and manage content aligned to overall strategy
- Author and manage content within Contentful CMS
Must-Have Skills
- 7+ years’ experience in Content Design, UX Writing, or Content Strategy
- Strong expertise in SEO fundamentals and modern semantic search
- Experience working with global content (GEO) and localisation workflows
- Comfortable working with:
- Structured content
- Metadata
- Headless CMS environments
- Proven ability to design scalable content systems and patterns (not just write content)
- Strong ability to articulate content decisions and advocate for:
- User needs
- Global considerations
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with schema markup / structured data (JSON-LD)
- Familiarity with writing content for AI/LLM consumption or retrieval
- Experience partnering with developers and CMS teams on content model design
- Knowledge of accessibility (WCAG), plain language, and inclusive design
- Experience working in complex, multi-market organisations
