We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Management Reporting
In this role, you will:
- Ensure accurate reporting of UK General Insurance books and records, maintaining compliance with internal standards.
- Strong understanding of Insurance distribution business and products in particular their KPIs and its performance impact Analyze monthly business performance results for HBUK-WPB, investigate variances in financials compared to previous months or plan/forecast and understand the drivers
- Record commissions for all insurance products offered by HSBC within TM1 and validate Management Information (MI) figures against TM1 data to ensure consistency.
- Prepare insurance commission summaries for distribution to Product Managers and IWPB team. Provide support new insurance products and share inputs to the relevant stakeholders reg challenges
- Preparation, consolidation and update of financial / non-financial management information. Analyze business performance against forecast, targets, prior period with a forward-looking outlook and update commentaries with clear understanding of business drivers
- Analyze issues/concerns in close coordination with the various stakeholders including input providers and in-country and build efficient operational control
- Ensure accuracy, completeness and validity of commentaries in the financial statements towards various reporting requirements
- Understand business requirements and interpret data to provide meaningful analysis to facilitate business decision-making.
- Proactive identification of unusual trends in business performance, liaising with appropriate teams and documenting the driving factors and other insights.
- Prepare and support monthly Exco, and other related reporting, Business Performance reporting and ad-hoc analysis. Support Planning activities across the cycles covering forecast / FRP / Budgeting / Target change process
To be successful you will:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) or MBA with 10-12 years of relevant experience in FP&A, Management Reporting, Financial Accounting.
- Strong working knowledge of Financial Systems is key (e.g. TM1, GL systems, FoTC – Looker tool)
- Exposure to Visualization and Automation tools such as Qlik.
- Experience in Financial Statements, Business Performance reporting.
- Ability to plan, lead and implement change to Business Frameworks. Ability to understand, map and change reporting process-flows
- Good communication and ability to interact with multiple employee levels/business partners, etc. Possess strong analytical and lateral thinking skills.
- Flexibility to work in accordance with Business requirements, which may include working outside of normal hours as may be required
- Ability to perform under strict deadlines. Ability to learn and is highly motivated to perform at the highest standard.
- Must have excellent attention to detail and work within tight deadlines ensuring a complete and accurate flow of information's between stakeholders.
- Must be experienced in working under pressure on multiple process improvement projects.
