A well-established and growing automotive group in the Columbia, SC market is seeking to hire an Assistant Controller to support financial operations across multiple dealership locations. This is a strong opportunity for an accounting professional looking to step into a leadership-track role within a stable and professionally run organization.

This position works closely with senior leadership and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial reporting, supporting the accounting team, and ensuring overall financial health across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Controller in overseeing daily accounting and financial operations
• Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements and related reports
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and working capital
• Support and help supervise accounting team members
• Participate in hiring, training, and development of accounting staff
• Collaborate with department leaders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting 
  

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 2 - 4+ years of experience in automotive accounting, dealership office management, controller support, or related role
• Automotive dealership experience is required
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• CDK experience preferred
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
