As a Director of Infrastructure Engineering at JPMorganChase within Employee Platforms, you have extensive knowledge of software, applications, and technical systems and processes in Mac platform infrastructure engineering, complemented by advanced knowledge of cross-platform enterprise integration and endpoint management disciplines. Contribute to the development of technical methods in Apple enterprise engineering in line with product development methodologies. Apply extensive in-depth expertise and problem-solving methodologies to accomplish, plan, and review tasks across multiple large-scope projects spanning Mac fleet management, automation, security, and enterprise systems integration.
Job Responsibilities
- Identifies and solves problems of high complexity associated with enterprise Mac platform infrastructure engineering, including large-scale deployment architecture, security hardening, and cross-platform integration challenges.
- Applies extensive in-depth expertise and problem-solving to accomplish, plan, and review tasks across multiple large-scope projects, businesses, and domains to influence, manage, and implement the Mac platform engineering technology strategy across the enterprise.
- Is responsible for high-impact projects requiring deep technical expertise and leadership, including macOS release adoption at scale, Apple Silicon migration strategies, hardware refresh programs, and enterprise-grade Apple solution delivery.
- Partners across other platforms â including Windows, Linux, and cloud-based enterprise systems â to architect and implement changes required to resolve cross-platform integration issues and modernize the organization's endpoint management and technology processes.
- Drives thought leadership within the Mac platform engineering product line, shaping long-term strategy around Apple enterprise technologies, zero-trust security models, and automation frameworks.
- Provides extensive consideration of upstream/downstream systems and technical implications â such as identity and access management, MDM protocol dependencies, CI/CD pipelines, and ITSM integrations â and advises on mitigation actions to ensure seamless enterprise operations.
- Considers financial implications of staffing, budget, and relevant profit and loss for Mac platform operations, including hardware procurement strategies, vendor licensing, and lifecycle management.
- Mentors and coaches junior engineers and technologists on Apple best practices, emerging technologies, scripting and automation development, and enterprise Mac management strategies.
- Champions the firm's culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect, prioritizing diverse representation across teams and fostering an environment where all team members thrive.
- Gains exposure to managing and developing budgets for Mac platform operations, including hardware procurement, vendor contracts, and software licensing.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
- Extensive experience in two or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware lifecycle management, networking, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments â with deep specialization in enterprise Mac platform operations at scale (5,000+ devices).
- Extensive knowledge of specific infrastructure technology and programming languages, including strong proficiency in Python, Shell scripting (bash/zsh), and Swift for automation and tooling development.
- Deep expertise in at least one Apple Device Management technology (Jamf Pro or Workspace ONE) for large-scale Mac deployment and management.
- Hands-on experience with macOS system administration, including configuration management, security hardening, and compliance enforcement across diverse Mac hardware platforms.
- Proven knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) protocols, Apple Business Manager, and Automated Device Enrollment (DEP/ADE).
- Strong understanding of Apple security frameworks including FileVault, Gatekeeper, System Integrity Protection (SIP), and secure token administration.
- Proficiency with identity and access management integration for Mac platforms, including Active Directory binding and Enterprise Connect.
- Knowledge of package management and software deployment using tools like AutoPkg, Munki, or custom PKG creation and distribution workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence technical direction across multiple teams and set strategic initiatives for Mac platform modernization at the enterprise level.
- Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent with specialized Apple ecosystem expertise.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience with Apple Silicon (M-series) architecture and managing the transition from Intel-based Macs to ARM-based at enterprise scale.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for Mac-based development teams, including Xcode Cloud, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with zero-trust security models and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions for Mac platforms.
- Understanding of Apple enterprise APIs and integration with ServiceNow, ITSM platforms, or custom enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of Mac hardware lifecycle management, including procurement strategies, warranty management, and sustainable disposal practices.
- Experience with cross-platform integration connecting Mac infrastructure with Windows, Linux, and cloud-based enterprise systems.
- Certifications such as Jamf Certified Tech/Admin/Expert, Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP), or relevant infrastructure certifications.
