Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will design, build, and enhance secure, scalable Azure platforms that underpin critical transport systems and data-driven services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, automated environments that enable insight, innovation, and operational excellence. You’ll take ownership of platform performance and reliability, while contributing ideas that continuously improve how solutions are designed and delivered.
You will play a key role in advancing cloud capabilities, ensuring platforms are resilient, compliant, and optimised for evolving business needs, all within a collaborative environment that supports your growth and development.
Key responsibilities:
• Design & Build: Architect and deploy secure, scalable Azure data platforms
• Automate & Deliver: Implement Terraform and CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments
• Collaborate & Enhance: Partner with engineers and stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions
• Secure & Govern: Apply best practices across security, compliance, and cloud governance
• Optimise & Improve: Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance platform performance and resilience
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You will bring strong experience in Azure platform engineering, with a focus on automation, cloud infrastructure, and secure data environments. You’ll be comfortable working collaboratively, adapting to evolving requirements, and delivering high-quality solutions that drive tangible outcomes.
Essential qualifications and experience:
• Strong hands-on expertise with Azure cloud services
• Proficiency in Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with Python for automation or scripting
• Knowledge of cloud security, governance, and compliance frameworks
• Experience in the public sector (desirable but not essential)
