At Jet2.com and Jet2holidays we’re working together to deliver an amazing journey, literally! We work together to really drive forward a ‘Customer First’ ethos, creating unforgettable package holidays and flights. We couldn’t do it without our wonderful people.
As our new Software Engineering Manager, you’ll play a major role in helping us achieve our goals. You’ll work closely with Delivery Team members and our Solution Architects to ensure our projects are delivered effectively and that our core platforms continue to evolve in the right direction.
As our Software Engineering Manager, you’ll have access to a wide range of benefits including:
- Hybrid working (we’re in the office 3 days per week)
- Manager bonus
- Generous pension scheme
What you’ll be doing:
- You’ll manage and coach highly skilled Software Engineers across multiple agile development teams, working alongside your Lead Software Engineers, as well as the Test Team Leads and Agile Delivery Leads.
- You’ll provide strong technical leadership - championing high‑quality engineering practices, supporting teams working on C# .NET Core APIs, and helping guide the evolution of our high‑performance, highly scalable search platform. This platform has recently migrated from on‑premise Kubernetes to AWS EKS and relies heavily on event‑driven architecture with Kafka at its core – awareness of these technologies is essential.
- As de facto system owner, you’ll contribute to ongoing architectural discussions, helping shape future improvements to search pricing accuracy, system performance and platform scalability. You’ll also drive continuous improvement through coaching, modern tooling, measurements of engineering effectiveness and exploring opportunities to adopt AI‑based developer tools.
What you’ll have:
- You’ll have a strong technical background, ideally as a C#/.NET expert, with the ability to understand, challenge and support teams building distributed systems and high‑throughput APIs.
- You’ll understand modern DevOps and testing approaches, with practical knowledge of microservices architecture, containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker and AWS cloud services.
- You’ll have experience planning and delivering technical projects in a fast‑paced scaled agile environment, with a passion for raising engineering standards, improving team performance and coaching others to do their best work.
