JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an individual as an Insurance Technician, at Velonetic.
An Insurance Technician works under the direction of a Team Manager, performing a range of technical checks and processes (processing) and data entry across insurance risks for different customers and classes of business. All work processed must meet agreed market service levels in respect of quality and turnaround time.
It will also require effective liaison with the Underwriters, Brokers and/or any other teams concerning the accurate and timely capture of the required information to the individual procedural requirements of the customer. This communication will mainly be conducted by email and by telephone.
Working as an Insurance Technician you may review and validate customers’ technical questions and issues through to satisfactory resolution within agreed service level timescales. Your role can include rolling out revised &/or new process instructions including the development of new technical work instructions.
It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of London Market practices or previous insurance industry experience, but not essential, as long as you have the willingness to learn the relevant procedures.
You will receive comprehensive training; but must have an excellent eye for detail and work to a high level of accuracy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviewing technical processing submissions for onward processing/data entry
Validating data and obtaining additional information to clarify documentation and where necessary correct inaccuracies.
Identifying potentially non-compliant data and initiating action to correct or resolve.
Processing non-cash /cash entries as applicable
Ensuring high standards of quality are achieved in line with customer expectations.
Effectively communicating with customers internally and externally
FURTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (ONCE TRAINING IS COMPLETE)
Developing and maintaining technical knowledge in order to efficiently and effectively complete work
Working with and training less experienced employees to deal with the handling of complex matters or additional work types as required.
Managing time and productivity effectively and working within established guidelines and service levels
Dealing with and resolving problems with independent judgement where possible
Demonstrating and encouraging commitment to team objectives
WE’RE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE
Strong numeracy, verbal and literacy skills
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Work to a high level of accuracy with attention to detail
Strong organisational, personal and time management skills
Ability to build productive networks and relationships with a variety of internal and external customers / colleagues.
Willingness to learn about London Insurance Market practices and procedures.
Adapts positively to support change initiatives, promoting professional image of self and the team.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous insurance industry experience preferred but not essential – full training and support will be provided.
Competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
