The Care Promoter Lead is a hybrid clinical and operational leadership role responsible for supporting direct patient care while ensuring efficient day-to-day center operations. This role partners closely with the Center Clinical Manager to lead the Care Promoters, support quality initiatives, and maintain smooth patient flow.
The Care Promoter Lead plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient care while modeling professionalism, accountability, and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Support and Patient Care
Provides direct patient care support, including preparing patients for examinations, performing routine screening, and assisting providers during visits.
Accurately obtains and documents vital signs, medical histories, and specimen collection in accordance with clinical standards.
Communicates treatment plans, procedures, and provider instructions clearly and compassionately to patients and families.
Processes patient phone messages, return calls, and route clinical information appropriately.
Calls in prescriptions with provider authorization, using appropriate medical terminology and following legal and ethical guidelines.
Operational and Workflow Support
Supports daily center operations to ensure efficient patient flow, scheduling accuracy, and reduce wait times.
Monitors operational gaps and escalate concerns to leadership to maintain quality and efficiency.
Ensures work is completed same day with attention to CMAP, Operational and Clinical GAPS, and STARs quality measures.
Leadership and Team Oversight
Assists the Center Clinical Manager in supervising Care Promoters and clinical support staff.
Supports onboarding, training, ad ongoing development of new and existing Care Promoters.
Provides input on performance evaluation and corrective action plans as needed.
Serves as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and patient-centered services.
Quality and Compliance
Supports center quality initiatives, including: Equipment checks, Inventory management, Monthly self-assessment, Waived testing quality control
Participates in quality improvement activities to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
Ensures compliance with organizational policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned and/or delegated at manager’s discretion.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities: able to remain calm in high-pressure situations
Demonstrates attention to detail with accurate documentation and data entry
Ability to lead multiple workflows while supporting a clinical team
Professional, ethical, and patient-focused demeanor
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and EMR systems
Ability to work effectively with providers, patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally up to 20% of the time
Spoken and written fluency in English required, bilingual a plus
Flexible to work evening, weekends and/or holidays as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:
High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required
Graduation from a nationally accredited Program in one of the following is required: Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician Program, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic
Medical Assistant Certification required
A minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician or similar in a hospital, medical clinic or comparable environment
Prior Team Lead experience preferred
BLS for Healthcare Providers required
Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus
EMR system experience preferred
PAY RANGE:
$20.2 - $28.83 Hourly
The posted pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for this position. Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for a bonuses or commissions.
