Lead Software Engineer - Sybase/Oracle/Postgres

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Equities Tech team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Ensure database performance, stability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of database solutions.
• Maintain and enhance existing database systems with a focus on stability and resiliency.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• 9+ years of hands-on experience in database engineering, with a focus on Any RDBMS viz. Sybase / Oracle / Postgres.
• Proficiency in SQL, query optimization, and stored procedure development.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile practices.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Ability to solve complex problems and a proven track record of high performance and delivery.

• Strong communication and team-working skills.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience working in financial services, preferably in a Trade management setup.
• Understanding of equity/credit derivatives trading and products.
• Experience with NoSQL databases and caching technologies.
• Experience working on AWS.
• A desire to learn about the Derivatives domain and technology.
