As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the CBCâGlobal Customer Platform, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team supporting multiple product areas. You will partner with application teams to support Pega application infrastructure configuration updates and deployments, and you are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firmâs business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Execute software design, development, and troubleshooting; deliver secure, high-quality production code
- Design and architect end-to-end Pega solutions aligned with business requirements and enterprise standards
- Define Pega frameworks, class structures, and data models; create technical design documents, diagrams, and solution blueprints
- Establish reusable components and design patterns; conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams
- Lead development of complex Pega applications across Case Management, BPM, and Decision Management; implement advanced Pega features (case, data, declarative rules, UI, reporting, integrations such as REST/SOAP/MQ/Kafka)
- Develop custom Java and implement security controls (authentication, authorization, encryption) as needed
- Build/enhance CI/CD pipelines and partner with Change/Release Management to support deployments, improve release stability, troubleshoot environment/configuration issues, and ensure release readiness while resolving scheduling conflicts
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 6+ years applied experience
- Hands-on experience delivering and operating Pega applications in an enterprise environment (architecture, development, and release)
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages such as Java (and/or related languages used for automation and integrations)
- Working knowledge of integrations and messaging patterns (e.g., REST/SOAP and event/messaging platforms such as MQ/Kafka)
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tooling to support build, test, scan, and deployment workflows
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Pega certifications (e.g., CSA/CSSA/LSA) or comparable demonstrated expertise
- Experience with DevOps/CI-CD tools such as Jenkins, Git/GitHub (and similar), plus automation/scripting (e.g., Groovy/Ansible/Python)
- Experience with container platforms and/or cloud platforms (e.g., Kubernetes/PCF) where relevant to the deployment model
- Familiarity with AI developer tools (e.g., Copilot/LLM-assisted development) consistent with firm guidelines
- Experience supporting mission-critical platforms/applications, preferably in financial services
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
