The Sustainment Branch Manager is responsible for leading and executing sustainment operations across multiple programs, ensuring reliable, responsive, and scalable support to systems deployed in the field. This role oversees Field Service Representatives (FSRs), site activation activities, and sustainment execution functions, ensuring alignment with program requirements and operational objectives.
This leader will manage a distributed workforce and ensure seamless coordination between field operations and logistics integration efforts, enabling uninterrupted support and mission readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage sustainment execution across multiple programs simultaneously
Oversee Field Service Representative (FSR) workforce, including deployment, utilization, and performance
Direct site activation and fielding support activities
Manage execution of spares and asset support in coordination with logistics integration teams
Ensure personnel readiness, including travel coordination, clearance management, and deployment planning
Serve as primary interface between field operations and program leadership
Monitor and manage workload distribution across sustainment personnel
Identify and resolve operational issues impacting field performance
Establish and enforce standardized processes for sustainment execution and reporting
Provide feedback to Logistics Integration Branch to improve products and supportability
Identify sustainment capability gaps and support hiring aligned to program demand
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of experience in sustainment, field operations, or maintenance support or 6+ years with MS degree
Demonstrated experience managing field-based or distributed teams
Experience supporting DoD programs in operational environments
Strong understanding of fielding, sustainment execution, and operational support requirements
Experience managing personnel deployment, travel, and clearance processes
Ability to operate in a matrixed environment supporting multiple programs
Active or ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Field Service Representative (FSR) or FSR Lead
Experience managing site activation or system fielding events
Familiarity with spares execution and asset management processes
Background in maintenance operations or sustainment environments
Experience supporting rapid fielding or operational deployments
Lean Six Sigma or process improvement experience

Pay Range $105,300.00 - $190,350.00
