Location: UCHealth UCHth Parkview Medical Center, US:CO:Pueblo


Department: PMC Clinical Engineering


Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)


Shift: Days


Pay: $28.26 - $42.39 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience


This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option


Summary:


A Biomedical Equipment Technician will ensure that all clinical and diagnostic equipment across the facility is properly installed, maintained, calibrated, and repairedto support safe, high-quality patient care. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with a strong understanding of healthcare regulations, equipment safety standards, and customer service for clinical staff.


Strongly preferred: Ventilator service experience, able to train less experienced technicians, familiar with AAMI, ECRI, NFPA99, TJC, and other standards and regulations. Familiar with defibrillators and physiological monitors. Completion of biomedical equipment maintenance program or related training.


Responsibilities:
  • Responds to support requests. Interviews customer to determine nature and scope of the customer's issue, and the appropriate response.
  • Diagnoses, resolves and closes medical equipment issues according to service level guidelines. Promptly escalates issues to higher level technical support or management when necessary.
  • Performs routine safety checks, calibrations, and preventative maintenance on medical equipment and support systems.
  • Demonstrates understanding of customer service policies and procedures, continuously develops depth and breadth of technical competencies.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:


  • High School degree or GED.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
