Senior Front End Developer - Hybrid - Permanent

Salary: circa £50,000 per annum (negotiable based on experience) + comprehensive benefits package

Reports into: Development Team Leader - OpenAthens

Working style: Hybrid - A blend of working from home and your nominated hub office. We have hubs located in London, Bristol, Manchester and Oxford.

The role:

As a Senior front-end developer, you will lead the front-end development of enterprise-scale software solutions, collaborating closely with your colleagues and providing coaching and mentoring to support their growth.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborating with your scrum team (developers, testers, product owner), the Technical Design Authority (TDA), and other stakeholders to understand product changes requirements, contribute to the technical design alongside Senior backend developers, and plan the implementation.
  • You will deliver significant new features and projects by building your technical, product and domain knowledge and combining it with your ability to help others achieve the required outcome
  • To regularly coach or mentor colleagues, including pair programming, to help them work through problems and develop themselves along the way
  • To deliver technical, product or domain sessions for the whole Development team to help raise the capability across the team
  • You will develop in-depth knowledge in one or two relevant technical or product areas and then become an advocate for them
  • You will develop good working relationships with colleagues across the OpenAthens business

 

 

What we are looking for:

  • To have significant experience of designing, developing, and supporting the front-end of web-based enterprise-scale applications using Angular or React.
  • To be able to create and set up new projects
  • Able to create code that is both high quality and easily maintainable.
  • A collaborative way of working with stakeholders, product managers, developers, technical design authority and UX designers.
  • To take the technical lead for software developments (frontend) – helping others to achieve the required outcome
  • Be motivating and have the ability to continuously learn and exploit new and emerging technologies, techniques, and soft skills, combined with a commitment to continuous improvement.
