MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Principal Cyber Network Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.
In this role, you will expand network modeling of various vendor network devices, such as routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls, as well as virtual network devices and cloud environments. You will research network device features affecting access and introduce new data streams from devices into analytics engines to support the mission.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working closely with customers on onboarding, updates, and troubleshooting issues with cybersecurity tools.
- Providing insight into efficiencies that can be gained from current workflows based on an understanding of customer requirements.
- Collaborating with engineers on troubleshooting and building proof-of-concept network topologies.
- Performing engineering support and system administration of specialized cybersecurity applications, including installation, configuration, and patching.
- Providing Tier 3 maintenance and engineering support for deployed cybersecurity technologies.
- Identifying potential conflicts with cybersecurity tool implementation and developing recommendations for remediation.
- Developing ideas for automating repetitive project tasks and metrics collection through the use of scripts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of additional experience in lieu of degree.
- 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering involving firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux systems, general operating system security practices, and TCP/IP networking.
- Proven experience with the use and implementation of AWS cloud technologies.
- Possession of or the ability to obtain an IAT Level II or higher certification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of federal Cyber Security Guidance including NIST SP 800-37 and NIST 800-137.
- Ability to work across teams as a self-starter to drive change throughout an organization.
Clearance Requirements:
- An active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and communicate with others.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
