As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Asset and Wealth Management, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and optimizes complex SQL and PLSQL queries, procedures, and packages for high-performance applications.
- Collaborates with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develops and maintains Python scripts for data processing, automation, and integration with other systems.
- Participates in database design, data modeling, and performance tuning activities.
- Troubleshoots and resolves database-related issues, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Works with version control systems and follow best practices for code management and deployment.
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Strong proficiency in SQL and PLSQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar RDBMS).
- Experience in writing complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience in database development and optimization, with Python programming skills to support automation and integration tasks
- Working knowledge of Python for scripting and automation tasks.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Leverage AWS services for database hosting, ETL processes, and application deployment.
- Experience with AWS cloud services (RDS, Lambda, S3, etc.).
- Exposure to ETL tools and data integration frameworks.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
