JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Java Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Java Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Developing and maintaining robust back-end services using Core Java, Java 17, J2EE, Hibernate, and Spring MVC; Designing and implementing user interfaces with Java Server Faces (JSF), Angular (including Angular 15), ReactJS, NodeJS, and Form.io; Developing and consuming SOAP and RESTful web services, including microservices development using Spring Boot and RESTful APIs; Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) models into applications to enhance automation, data analysis, and predictive capabilities, including implementing machine learning algorithms and Large Language Models (LLMs) to support business objectives; Developing large-scale Machine Learning systems and utilizing Python for application development, in Streamlit, Flask, Django, Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Scikit-learn, and TensorFlow; Using SDL Tridion for web content management and contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of multi- lingual websites; Developing dynamic forms and applications using Form.io to improve user interaction and data collection efficiency on custom form-based solutions; Developing and maintaining scalable applications across platforms including web, mobile, client-server, and mainframe; Designing, developing, and maintaining applications leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS), Pivotal Cloud Foundry, orchestration, and containerized applications to ensure scalability and performance in cloud environments; Applying Spring framework components including Model View Controller (MVC), Spring JDBC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Batch, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud API Gateway; Utilizing Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) to design and manage business processes; Implementing Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, and building thread-safe code; Using version control systems including GIT and Bitbucket; Working with messaging systems including Apache Kafka and MQ; Utilizing data and persistence technologies including SQL, No-SQL, and caching platforms; Applying agile methodologies including Agile SDLC, Application Architecture Disciplines, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security; Ensuring quality through automated tooling, UTC, and automation using Java, Selenium, Cucumber, and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) frameworks; Developing test cases and writing unit tests to improve code coverage using JUnit, Jasmine, Mockito, and automated QA tools; Using performance monitoring and observability tools including Dynatrace, Kibana, JMeter, Splunk, Newrelic and Grafana.

Full-Time. Salary: $140,000  per year.
