We are currently looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to support one of our clients based on-site in Edinburgh.
This is a full-time, position working a 37.5-hour week Monday – Friday. The ideal candidate will be required to have a flexible approach as overtime and on-call duties may be required.
Due to the nature of our client's work the successful candidate will need to be eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance.
Responsibilities:
Desktop / Laptop / VDI build, configuration and deployment to end users
Software installation / deployment
Asset and peripheral deployments
In depth investigation into issues to pass back to 3rd line support
Assisting the 2nd Line support team with laptop, desktop and VDI terminals support calls
Hardware installation / upgrade / break fix for desktop, laptop, and server
Smartphone support (Andriod & iOS)
VIP support
Service Desk cover as required
Assisting with customer projects
What we're looking for:
Microsoft Windows 7 and 10 Operating Systems – Deployment, configuration
Support Microsoft Office 2010 onwards
Proven and demonstrable software and hardware troubleshooting skills, experience in a Deskside Support role
Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM and OS / Application deployment Good verbal communication: ability to communicate to all levels
Good written communication: concise and accurate call logging, documentation, and email correspondence
Good time management / organisational skills
Work well as part of a team or independently
Desirable skills / qualifications:
Microsoft Windows 7/10 training and certification
Legacy O/S
Active Directory management
Understanding of SCCM
Exposure to Win11
Exposure to Entra, Azure and ZScaler
Understanding of McAfee EPO
