JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Technical Project Manager II in Commercial and Investment Banking, you will play a pivotal role in leading complex technology projects and programs that drive business goals and enhance the firm's technological capabilities. You will leverage your broad knowledge of technical principles and practices to develop innovative solutions, while effectively managing resources, budgets, and cross-functional teams. Your analytical reasoning and adaptability skills will enable you to navigate through ambiguity and embrace change. By fostering productive relationships with stakeholders and clients, you will contribute to the firm's overall growth and success. Your excellent communication skills and ability to influence others will be crucial in driving mutually beneficial outcomes and managing risks in line with the firm's policies and practices.

Job responsibilities

  • Analyze and breakdown complex business, technical, and operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of technical solutions, including identifying key technologies or platforms that can solve business goals and managing vendor relations
  • Support the optimization of allocated resources, including people, budget, and technology, to effectively plan, schedule, and progress project and/or program initiatives
  • Participate in stakeholder management, fostering productive working relationships with cross-functional teams and clients to drive mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Assist in risk management by making informed decisions in line with the firm's risk management practices and policies, ensuring project success and compliance 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on technology program/project management and 3+ years applied experience
  • Demonstrated success managing large cross-functional teams and vendor/partner relationships
  • Strong technology background (e.g., infrastructure, networks, compute, storage, cloud, platform services) with the ability to engage credibly with engineers and architects
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and visual—with a track record of concise executive storytelling and stakeholder alignment
  • Proven expertise in program governance, roadmap planning, budgeting/forecasting, and risk/dependency management
  • Experience operating under tight timelines and high visibility, with disciplined execution and calm under pressure
  • Proficiency with program tooling (e.g., JIRA/Azure DevOps, Confluence, Smartsheet, or equivalent) and executive reporting dashboards
  • Proficiency in Python for data automation (e.g., pandas, scheduled jobs/ETL) and Tableau for building/maintaining automated dashboards and data sources, including experience integrating Python ETL with Tableau Server/Cloud and implementing data validation and version control for reporting assets

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with enterprise communications programs (e.g., AOComms) and compute optimization or “Farm” style capacity initiatives
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud, data center migrations, resiliency and tech refresh programs
  • Certifications: PMP, PgMP, SAFe/Agile, ITIL (or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of Python for data automation (e.g., pandas, scheduled jobs), and proficiency in Tableau for building/maintaining automated dashboards and data sources. Experience integrating Python ETL with Tableau Server/Cloud, implementing data validation, and version control for reporting assets.
